The “Breast Cancer Peer Navigation for Young Women” service is a collaborative initiative between Wellspring, Willow Breast Cancer Support and Resource Services, and the Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre. The service will facilitate connections between women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer, and a “peer navigator”, a survivor who is of a similar age and stage of life, but who is farther along in the process. This “peer navigator” would assume the role of providing psychosocial and informational support to the newly diagnosed woman.
